Lycetts has arranged an insurance policy designed to protect individual members of the Hurlingham Polo Association for their liability exposure as an employer of personnel working solely in polo. This insurance does not extend to cover any other type of employee employed by a member in whatever capacity. The maximum limit of indemnity is £10,000,000.
Ordinarily, Employers' Liability* insurance is not available as a stand-alone policy. However, in this instance the cover is being made available as it is being underwritten by the same insurer that provides the HPA membership with their individual Public Liability (Third Party) insurance. Therefore, eligibility for this product is contingent on the HPA Member being the applicant/employer in their own name as a private individual and not engaged in polo for any commercial business or gain. If this is not the case, then this product is not suitable, as Employers' Liability will have to be purchased in conjunction with Public Liability. Where this is the case, you should call us on the contact details provided below for further information.
At this stage it must be fully understood that the coverage is only valid provided:
- The employee(s) is/are in the employ of the policyholder.
- All of your employees employed in polo are insured under this policy.
- The employee(s) is/are involved exclusively in activities directly involved with polo.
In no way does the policy extend to indemnify the policyholder for any third party damage or injury, or any 'Player-to-Player' cover.
Neither does this policy extend to indemnify any employer for an employee's activity as a professional polo player injured whilst playing in a polo match.
If you would like a quote for this coverage, please use this link to proceed to the Employers' Liability Quotation Request form.
Once you have submitted your form, you will receive a response with a quotation and a declaration. These documents will have to be completed, signed, dated and returned with payment in order for cover to be effected.
* Please note that Employers' Liability insurance is compulsory for all employers under the terms of the Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969, other than those exceptions as detailed in the act.
