We Know Travel Insurance

Travel insurance choices delivered with accuracy and perception.

Ill health while abroad or the loss of money, documents or passports may spoil an eagerly anticipated family holiday.

Fortunately, travel insurance policies can be provided by Lycetts on an individual trip or annual basis for holiday or business trips, which offers cover for medical expenses, repatriation and cancellation. Hazardous activities, such as winter sports or scuba diving, can be included on a policy too, as well as an emergency telephone number in the event of a claim.

"Lycetts delivers a global understanding of protection when on holiday, targeting the key issues that could arise based on your travel itinerary."

How to claim travel insurance.

All travel insurers require specific original documentation in the event of a claim. For all claims, this includes:

  • A travel insurance certificate
  • A tour operator’s booking invoices, which show holiday costs
  • Travel tickets – airline, ferry, coach etc.
  • A travel itinerary

For personal effects claims, please note:

  • Personal baggage and money losses must be reported to the local police and a written report received within 24 hours.
  • You must obtain the property irregularity reports, and retain tickets and baggage tags from airlines/carriers.
  • Evidence of ownership is required. For example, an original receipt, a photograph of the item concerned or an operating manual for a camera.

For claims in regards to cancellation, curtailment or medical expenses, please note that the following is required:

  • Receipts for medication, consultations or treatment.
  • A medical certificate completed by your usual GP or consultant.
  • If emergency treatment is required or curtailment of a trip is necessary, the emergency service provider must be contacted.

To transfer or not? When it comes to Defined Benefit pension schemes, that is the question.

February 2, 2017

Defined Benefit (DB) Pensions are the Rolls Royce of pensions. These gold-plated pensions give a defined level of inflation-proofed income in retirement. However, like a Rolls Royce they are very expensive, which is why most employers no longer offer them to new employees.

Personal Tax update for the 2017/2018 tax year

January 25, 2017

Compared to George Osborne’s statements and budgets in 2015 the new Chancellor had few surprises in last year’s Autumn Statement for investors and savers.
