Rural Insurance

We Know Rural Business Insurance

With a 40-year pedigree as the leading independent rural insurance broker, Lycetts knowledge of rural business insurance is second-to-none.

The UK’s rural industries are changing rapidly. Many traditional farms and estates are diversifying to generate new and innovative sources of revenue, while newer, smaller businesses that need only a broadband connection are choosing to base themselves in rural locations.

Over the past 40 years, our client base has developed into a rich tapestry of the traditional and the modern – businesses that often work hand-in-hand to sustain a family farm or estate. From vineyards to care farms, we don’t just understand the insurance requirements of today’s cutting-edge rural enterprises; many of our experts have first-hand experience of rural businesses and are passionate about rural affairs.

With access to more markets than most brokers, we are able to offer highly competitive premiums and policy terms, with a full range of associated products to tailor an insurance package to a clients needs.

As changes and challenges occur in the countryside, stirring opportunities and threats in equal measure, we always take an innovative and flexible approach to insurance and risk management to enable our clients to plan for the unpredictable.

"Above all, we recognise the increasing need of the rural community to seek new and ever more innovative ways to maintain the rural economy and we aim to work closely with our clients to ensure that they receive the highest standards of expertise and service."

How to claim rural business insurance.

In the event of a claim, please notify your Lycetts account executive or claims handler as soon as possible, and certainly of the incident. Some policies have strict time limits for notification of claims, so if there is a delay you may prejudice your claim.

If the claim is to be for theft or malicious damage, please remember to report the incident to the police and obtain a crime reference number. On larger claims (in excess of £2,000), insurers may wish to appoint a loss adjuster, in which case your Lycetts team will provide advice on procedure. Regarding liability claims, it is essential that any potential claims are notified to Lycetts immediately and all correspondence is promptly forwarded to your Lycetts contact.
