Lycetts offers specialist animal trade-related insurance solutions through its trading division, Cliverton. We provide a comprehensive and often exclusive range of products, schemes and services for those involved in animal related industries, underwritten especially to meet our clients' particular insurance needs.
Animal trades
Our specialist policies cover boarding kennels, catteries, groomers, clubs, trainers, pet sitters and walkers, hydrotherapists, animal rescue societies and a range of related trades. We offer employers and public liability insurance, as well as protection against loss or injury to animals in care (including vets fees). A professional indemnity extension is available and property can also be covered including business equipment, grooming equipment, tools and machinery.
Pest control and falconry
Our pest control policy is based on employers' and public liability insurance and this includes the use of guns, poisons and pesticide sprays. We can also cover ancillary business such as the sale of traps, poisons and accessories. We also have a specialist product, unique to us - for the insurance of commercial users of falcons including for pest control and bird deterrence.
As an extension of the above, we can also arrange insurance for rural vermin controllers and gamekeepers. Where appropriate, this can include liability and cancellation cover for shoots and shooting syndicates.
Security guards and dog handlers
Again, our standard policy provides employers' and public liability insurance for static or mobile guards where the work primarily involves the use of guard dogs. Separate insurance can be arranged where the principal activity is guarding without the use of dogs. Cover can be extended to include loss of keys and wrongful arrest.
Insurance is also available for users of drug or explosive sniffer dogs, search and rescue dogs and for dog training agencies.
Exotic and DWAA Pets
Cliverton is able to arrange public liability cover for the owners of exotic pets and animals requiring a licence under The Dangerous Wild Animals Act. The policy covers both private owners and commercial uses such as displays, educational lectures and, for example, venom collection from snakes.
