Charity begins with Lycetts

Lycetts is committed to making a difference. Not only in the way we do business but in the way we help change lives. We believe in helping communities less privileged than ourselves. That’s why all our available profits are passed to our ultimate owner, the charity Allchurches Trust, which in turn invests them back into the community.

Our charity goes further

Lycetts offers Staff Fund Matching to all staff who are supported in their chosen charity work and we match £1 for £1 of any personal fundraising, up to a value of £5,000 per employee per event.

Every year, each employee is given £125 to donate to any registered charity of their choice.  This is in addition to the funds we commit to as a business.

Several of the Lycetts team support Learning for Life, through various fund-raising initiatives. One member of staff, Robyn Gerencser impressively climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise over £3000 for young adults with special educational needs or disabilities.

Supporting future generations

Furthermore, we actively support several deserving causes year-after-year and feel privileged to be involved with the likes of The Percy Hedley Foundation  a registered charity that helps disabled children, young people and adults get access to a wide range of high quality, specialist and personalised care and education support. Lycetts is proud to help the foundation support over 1,000 families each year who suffer with cerebral palsy and communication difficulties.

 

Support through sponsorship

At Lycetts, we believe in giving individuals encouragement and motivation to succeed. We are passionate about giving people from our rural communities exceptional opportunities.

Equine excellence

Lycetts has partnered with the National Trainers Federation (NTF) who run the Lycetts Team Champion Award which encourages

safe and effective employee management practices within the racing industry.

 The accreditation system continues to grow in profile, allowing trainers to benchmark their business and use a trusted quality mark to attract staff, owners and sponsorship.

Over the first two years of the award, over 50 training yards have acquired accreditation through participating in the award. Research conducted for a Racing Industry MBA shows that participating yards have strengthened their staff retention rates and combine this with growing racecourse success – “Happy Staff Produce Winners.”

A £4000 prize awaits the winner in both categories – yards with 40 or more horses, and yards with fewer than 40 horses.

For the good of future generations

Lycetts is delighted to support two student scholarships in partnership with the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) at Cirencester. Two scholarships to the value of £2,500 each were awarded in 2019 with the winning RAU students undertaking original research project at Lycetts during the course of the summer and presenting their findings to our Board in the autumn.

Our local offices also regularly support smaller charities by attending balls and festivals or hosting lunches and sponsoring rural fairs and sporting events. We also place adverts in charity programmes and magazines so our support is varied and far-reaching.
