The 2025 Dalemain World Marmalade Awards have once again captured the imagination of artisan producers, home cooks, and marmalade lovers from around the world, and Lycetts is proud to be at the heart of the celebration.
As a longstanding sponsor of this uniquely British yet internationally beloved event, Lycetts was thrilled to continue its support of the ‘Lycetts Signature Savoury Category’. This category champions bold, savoury marmalade pairings and continues to push the boundaries of what marmalade can be, proving once again that it pairs just as beautifully with trout and charcuterie as it does with toast and tea.
This year’s entries showcased a remarkable range of imaginative ingredients and culinary flair, from ginger and garlic infusions to unexpected twists like peanut butter and even cheese pairings. The category reinforces the idea that marmalade is not just a breakfast condiment, but a gourmet creation that can play a central role in modern cuisine.
Lycetts is especially proud to be associated with a competition that values quality, community, and creativity. The Dalemain World Marmalade Awards have now run for 20 years and have raised almost £350,000 for Hospice at Home Carlisle & North Lakeland, with 100% of the Homemade category entry fees going directly to charity. The Lycetts Signature Savoury category, along with the support from other key sponsors like Fortnum & Mason, continues to help elevate the profile of artisan producers while making a real and lasting social impact.
This year also marked a historic milestone for the Awards: for the first time ever, a foreign entrant took home the top prize. Hitomi Wakamura from Tokyo won “Best in Show” with her exquisite Yuzu & Pear marmalade, selected from over 3,200 entries by the expert team at Fortnum & Mason. Her win underscores the global reach and growing cultural significance of the Awards, with entries from more than 30 countries including Japan, Canada, Slovakia, Jordan, and Argentina.
At Lycetts, we value quality, originality, and the communities that bring these to life. Our continued support of the Marmalade Awards reflects a shared commitment to craft, culture, and meaningful charitable impact.
We’re proud to play a part in celebrating this year’s winners, and look forward to seeing how the category continues to evolve in both creativity and reach.
