Lycetts to host Escala concert at Sedbergh School in Cumbria

September 29th 2017

Lycetts is to host an evening of musical entertainment in Powell Hall at Sedbergh School on Friday 6th October 2017.

We are delighted to present the electric string quartet, Escala, who will be supported by a selection of Sedbergh School’s most talented former pupils.

The evening is being held to raise money in support of former Sedbergh School pupil, Jack Roberts, who this year has challenged himself to “Go the Distance” to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s UK.

Escala rose to fame when they entered Britain’s Got Talent where they reached the final in May 2008. After the show they signed a £1.5million contract with Simon Cowell and went on to release their album “Escala” in 2009. Escala is now Victoria Lyon and Honor Watson (violins), Stephanie Benedetti (viola) and Helen Nash “cello”.

Jack’s challenges this year have included the Three Peaks Challenge in April and The Wainwright Challenge in June and July, which involved walking 700km in 25 days while summiting 214 Lake District peaks – the equivalent of ascending and descending Mount Everest five times! In August he set off on the Rickshaw Run, travelling 3,000km along the west coast of India in a 7HP Tuck Tuck. So far he has raised just under £10,000 for his charity.

Tickets for the evening are £35 per person, to include reception and interval drinks, canapés, entry to the concert and a programme.
