BT Redcare announces partnership for continuous service

June 17th 2024

BT Redcare has partnered with AddSecure, a European provider of secure IoT connectivity and alarm signalling, to maintain its ‘Next Generation’ fire and security alarm signalling services in the UK. This collaboration follows BT’s decision to close its Redcare operations in August 2025 to focus on core products and services.

The partnership aims to ensure a seamless transition for customers from older alarm systems to modern digital platforms. Both companies will provide ongoing support during this process.

David Reynolds, Head of Risk Engineering & Surveys at RiskSTOP, welcomed the announcement. He noted that while the legacy Redcare Classic will still close, AddSecure will manage customer relationships with alarm receiving centres using BT Redcare’s Next Generation devices. This means existing devices won’t need replacing, reducing disruption for customers.

Simon Warner, Director of UK Portfolio Businesses at BT, expressed satisfaction with the agreement, emphasising the continued benefits of next-generation technology and services for UK alarm installers post-2025. BT is committed to supporting its current customers through the transition.
